Global Environmental Health & Safety Manager
Overview: We have an exciting opportunity for a highly talented, motivated professional to join our Bio-manufacturing global team as a Global Environmental Health & Safety Manager located just outside of Madison, Wisconsin. This position will be responsible for the successful and implementation of site-specific health, safety and environmental operations and tasks at the assigned work sites across the business unit. This includes but is not limited to: risk management activities, industrial hygiene, applicable report writing, industrial HSE compliance auditing, emergency response, HSE training, HSE program development, incident investigation and data trending and analysis.
The incumbent will be responsible for the following:
*Coordination, development and deployment of Group EH & S policies, best practice and local regulatory requirements.
*Identification and evaluation of significant health and safety risks and development of suitable control systems.
*Investigation of incidents, root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventative measures.
*Development and implementation of new initiatives to increase health, safety and environmental performance across the business.
*Promotion of EH & S activities to increase awareness and understanding across the business.
*Support local bio-manufacturing production facility, onsite R&D laboratory, and global bio-manufacturing facilities.
The Candidate: Candidate Requirements:
We are searching for a candidate with the following skills, qualifications and experience:
*Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Occupational Safety and Health/Environment or a related field from an accredited institution.
*Five years full time safety and/or occupational health operations.
*Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills; being able to succinctly communicate, market and sell practical EHS & S solutions to all levels of company/business/and facility personnel.
*Ability to conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
*Ability to travel nationally and internationally, 30-45% required.
*Good Understanding of OSHA general industry and EPA regulations, related state statutes/regulations or local ordinances.Familiarity of equivalent international regulatory standards.
*Experience conducting investigations and mitigating hazards common to research laboratory, industrial, institutional and facilities maintenance operations is required
*Knowledge of Fire Protection, Contractor Safety, Injury/Illness prevention, Electrical Safety, Hazardous Substances, Ergonomics and Laser Safety.
